BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Baton Rouge officials have approved more than $7 million in incentives to bring a Costco Warehouse to Baton Rouge.
Costco is expected to open a 150,000-square-foot store by next April at the site of a former Coca-Cola bottling facility. Company officials say it would provide jobs for 250 employees.
The $7 million deal approved Wednesday by the Metro Council in East Baton Rouge Parish will pay for $5.5 million in road improvements, to alleviate traffic backups in the area, and $1.5 million toward the $4.5 million cost of tearing down the old bottling facility.
