NEW YORK (AP) — Alco Stores Inc. is relocating its corporate headquarters from Kansas to suburban Dallas to be in a more metropolitan area.
CEO Rich Wilson said Wednesday that the move to Coppell (kuh-PEHL'), Texas, from Abilene, Kansas, will give the company easy access to many of its stores, other major retailers and better transportation.
Wilson says relocating to a more accessible location for vendors is critical and that Coppell will help it to attract and keep executive-level personnel.
The move takes place in June.
Alco has 217 stores in 23 states selling home furnishings, outdoor products, electronics sporting goods and clothing.
