FRANKLINTON, La. (AP) — The Washington Parish Tourism Commission will have less money to spend in 2013.
Commission manager Katherine Mayor tells The Daily News (http://bit.ly/UqelkX ) she submitted an annual budget proposal to the Parish Council for $40,500, about $900 less than the 2012 budget.
The office operates solely on state-appropriated funds based on a rebate of a percentage of the state hotel/motel taxes collected in Washington Parish and paid to the state, Mayor said.
Although the parish spends no money on the tourism office, the council must approve the budget.
