BANJA LUKA, Bosnia-Herzegovina (AP) — Bosnian authorities say they have arrested a Serbian citizen suspected of embezzling more than $370 million from Romanian banks.

Gospa Arsenovic, the spokeswoman for the Banja Luka police, said Wednesday that the man has been handed over to Bosnia's State Court, which will start an extradition procedure.

The State Prosecutor's office in Bucharest said Krunislav Jovanovic was part of a criminal group that faked checks and other bank documents, and was one of the most wanted criminals in Romania.

Jovanovic was arrested in the northern Bosnian town of Gradiska after he tried to cash a false check worth 1 million euros.
