The Rangers let us know... it's football season
05:44 PM CDT on Wednesday, August 13, 2008
In some ways, it's like a dream you don't want to see die.
In others, it's like watching a train wreck. You can't turn away.
That's me and the Texas Rangers these days.
Did you watch any of their historic game against the Red Sox on Tuesday? Quick recap... they fell behind by 10 runs in the first inning. But they came back, batting around in the 5th and 6th, and took the lead into the 8th.
Then they lost on a big homer by Kevin Youkilis.
The two big records: the first time in team history to score 15 runs or more... and lose. And only the 4th team in major league history to score 17 runs or more... and lose.
Don't you want to know what's going through Nolan Ryan's mind today? The team president can't be happy about things, but... what should he do?
Trades need to be made, but whom do you get rid of? There are bound to be some pitchers out there. And regardless of the Ballpark's reputation as a hitter's park... there have been some good pitcher's with success through the years. Rogers... Sele... Helling... it can be done.
It all means, barring a miracle... wait until next year. Again.
And let's talk some football!
