MARBLE FALLS -- A Marble Falls woman who made national headlines for dragging her dog is getting probation for that crime.
Maricela Sanchez, 28, pled guilty this week. She was sentenced to probation for two years and must pay a $500 fine. She also has to complete 150 hours of community service.
Sanchez was arrested for animal cruelty last August after witnesses told police she tied her five pound dog Mimi to her SUV with a leash, and dragged her until her paws were raw.
Mimi recovered and is now in a new home.
