Tuesday is deadline day for Chrysler! The automaker has until midnight to respond to the federal government's recall request on 2.7 million Jeeps. The gas tank is located behind the rear axle, posing a fire risk in rear-end collisions. Chrysler has said Grand Cherokees and Liberty SUVs made over 15 model years are safe.
Yahoo is now detailing how it helps government surveillance efforts. The company says it received as many as 13,000 such requests for information from law enforcement agencies in the past six months. Most were related to fraud, homicide and criminal investigations.
More speculation Ben Bernanke has his eye on the exit door. President Obama says the Fed chairman stayed in his post "longer than he wanted." Bernanke's current term ends next January. The Fed by the way, kicks off a two-day policy meeting on the economy and interest rates Tuesday.
As for trading, stocks went out higher after a report showed homebuilder confidence rising to a seven-year high on Tuesday.
