LEE COUNTY, Texas -- Two passengers died Saturday morning after the SUV they were riding in rolled off the road on FM 696 in Lee County.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the 2010 Dodge Nitro was traveling eastbound, about six miles east of Lexington, when it left the road and went into a ditch
The vehicle rolled along the ditch, ejecting both passengers sitting in the rear seat before coming to a stop.
A county judge pronounced passengers Greggory Allen Tiemann, 20, and Madison Marie Bristow, 19, both from Lexington, dead at the scene around 8:15 a.m. It is unclear if they were wearing seatbelts.
First responders took the driver, Mason Edward Allen, 19, from Lexington, to University Medical Center Brackenride in Austin with non-life-threatening injuries.
DPS reported Allen was wearing a seatbelt.
The speed limit on FM 696 is 60 miles per hour. It is unclear if speed was a factor in the crash.
Weather conditions at the time were documented as clear, cloudy and dry.
