A 2-year-old boy nearly drowned in a backyard pool Monday, Austin police said.
The incident happened in South Austin, in the 2600 block of Blue Cove, off William Cannon.
Police say two mothers and their four children were playing in the backyard -- not swimming -- when they lost sight of the boy. They spotted him in the pool, and one of the mothers jumped in and performed CPR.
Police and EMS arrived. After CPR, they got a pulse back and rushed the child to Dell Children's Medical Center.
There is so far no word on his condition.
