A plan is in the works to end the temporary layoffs that are triggering delays at the nation's airports. The Senate Thursday night approved legislation allowing the FAA to transfer millions of dollars from other parts of its budget and use the money to more fully staff traffic control towers again. The workers were furloughed this week because of budget cuts. The House may vote on the measure as early as Friday.
AT&T is getting into the "smart home" business. They are offering a home security service in 15 cities starting Friday at $30 a month, plus an installation fee. You need wireless and landline service for the system and backups to work. Neither have to be through AT&T. The "digital life" app also lets homeowners open and close automated doors - and check on kids and pets remotely.
