CANYON LAKE, Texas -- The Comal County Sheriff's Office is investigating its first homicide of 2014.

A call came in about a suspicious person just after 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 1. Deputies were called to the 100 block of White Oak in the Oaks subdivision of Canyon Lake, Texas.

There they found the body of James Carrol Spencer, 69. While Spencer's cause of death hasn't been released, deputies are investigating it as a homicide.

The Comal County Sheriff's Office has issued arrest warrants for Skyler Katherine Burghart, 18, and Austin Myles Byrom, 19. The two are in some sort of romantic relationship, according to the sheriff's office.

Spencer's vehicle was taken from the scene but has not yet been found. Deputies say it is a white Lexus four-door sedan with Texas license plate BZW-7242.

If you know any information on this homicide or see the vehicle in question, you are asked to call local authorities. Investigators urge you not to speak to the suspects.

"It's potential that any person could be dangerous when they're confronted or when they know they're being sought after so we would just caution anyone who sees the vehicle, instead of approaching them just contact law enforcement," Lt. Mark Reynolds said of the Comal County Sheriff's Office.

Neighbors and a family member said that Byrom was raised by Spencer.
