WELLS BRANCH, Texas -- Burglars have targeted two apartment complexes in Wells Branch -- in the last seven days. Police tell KVUE News -- four different units have been broken into.

"It's shocking when you hear people are getting broken into here," said resident Ty Johnson. He lives next to a unit that was burglarized at the Camden Ridgecrest complex on Wells Branch Parkway. It's located just a few blocks away from the second complex targeted, the Churchill Crossing complex.

Detectives say residents locked their doors, but someone kicked their way inside when no one was home.

"Burglars aren't the most industrious people, and they look for the easiest way to do things. Apparently, we have one burglar now that thinks kicking in doors at apartment complexes is fairly easy," said Travis County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Roger Wade.

The Camden Ridgecrest complex warned residents with a letter Monday. It contained advice: lock your door, keep your blinds closed, and don't open your door to strangers.

Normally the Wells Branch area averages just one burglary per month. Detectives are investigating the incidents, trying to find out who is responsible.

If you have any information call the Travis County Sheriff's Office (512) 974-0845.
