AUSTIN -- A San Francisco start-up in town for SXSW is suing the City of Austin.
SideCar lets users willing to pay for a ride find other users willing to give them one. But the City sent the company a cease and desist letter saying the app amounts to an illegal taxi company and violates city code. The letter threatens to impound participating cars.
Now SideCar has filed a lawsuit which City officials say they are, "fully prepared to defend."
