AUSTIN -- Police have arrested a man accused of shooting another earler this month in North Austin.
The incident happened around 11 p.m. Nov. 6 at Barwood Park. Marcus Johnson, 27, was found shot in the chest. He was taken to a local hospital where he died the next morning.
Derek Wright has been charged with the shooting. Police say he and another man intended to rob Johnson at the Remington House Apartments near the park.
Police say this was not a stranger-on-stranger murder. They say the men exchanged phone calls minutes before the shooting.
This was Austin's 19th homicide of the year.
