AUSTIN -- U.S. Senator John Cornyn cast his ballot in the Republican runoff for Senate Friday morning. He won't say whether Lt. Governor David Dewhurst or attorney Ted Cruz got his vote.

The Texas Republican voted in the Travis County Justice Complex in downtown Austin. He has not endorsed either candidate.

"I'm not picking sides for very practical reasons. I'm going to have to work, and it will be my pleasure to work with, whoever the Republican nominee is," said Senator Cornyn.

The race for the GOP nomination has become increasingly negative with both candidates pushing for last minute votes.

Early voting ends Friday. Election Day is Tuesday, July 31. The winner of the Republican runoff will face a Democratic challenger on Nov. 6.

"I'm looking forward to an ally and reinforcements to help us fight the battles for the free enterprise system and help turn the country around," said Senator Cornyn.
