AUSTIN -- Another person involved in a fatal accident involving five people and a stolen pickup truck has died.
Police say it all began on Tuesday Oct. 2 when officers spotted a truck driving without headlights in the area of Robert Martinez Jr. Street near Garden Street in East Austin.
The patrol car began to follow the truck but the driver reportedly took off, drove through several stop signs, lost control and hit a tree.
The driver of the truck was pronounced dead on the scene. Police have identified him as 17-year-old Rodney Christopher Penson.
One of the passengers, 16-year-old Allyiah Asher, died on Friday, Oct. 5 at the University Medical Center at Brackenridge as a result of the injuries she sustained in the crash.
There is no word on the condition of the other three teenagers involved in the crash.
