Several school districts in Central Texas are either closed or delayed Thursday morning due to heavy rain and flooding.
The Austin School District has closed Perez Elementary for the day.
Power outages have forced Palm Elementary to be closed. Staff will remain at the school with students. Parents can either pick them up now or at normal dismissal time. Buses are running for students who wish to take them. After school programs and tutoring have been canceled.
Blazier Elementary is still open but has suffered power outages as well. Parents can pick up their kids now if they want to. Staff members will stay at the school until the end of the day. Buses are still running.
The Hays County Sheriff's Office says due to overnight rains and the abundance of road closures, classes at Wimberley ISD and San Marcos CISD are canceled.
The following schools are also delayed or closed:
Hays CISD on a two-hour delay.
St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Wimberley is closed.
Santa Cruz Catholic School in Buda started at 9:45 a.m.
Dripping Springs ISD on a two-hour delay.
Hutto ISD is on a two-hour delay.
Bastrop ISD is on a two-hour delay.
Elgin ISD is on a two-hour delay.
McDade ISD is on a two-hour delay.
Lexington ISD is on a two-hour delay.
Lockhart ISD classes are canceled.
Austin Waldorf School will start at 10:30 a.m.
