Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Verizon Wireless says a scam is targeting their customers.

An automated claims the customer is being given a $44 credit on their cell phone bill. The call then directs the customer to go to another website and use their Verizon account log-in to redeem the credit.

A Verizon spokesperson tells News19 that their customers would never be directed to any other website than VerizonWireless.com. They recommend if you have questions about the validity of a phone call, to hang up, and either visit their website or call their customer service team at 1-8000-922-0204.
