AUSTIN -- Wristbands for the 2014 South by Southwest Festival are now on sale - for certain people.

Locals residents can go online to purchase a festival wristband at this time. They’re currently selling for a discounted $169. The normal price is $225. Go here to buy one.

A wristband allows festival-goers access to all of the South by Southwest venues and showcases with no cover charge. Wristband holders will get in after badge holders but before single admission ticket holders.

Access isn't always guaranteed because some venues have limited space. Festival organizers are limiting wristband sales to online purchases in an effort to keep the tickets out of the hands of scalpers.

Only people with credit card billing addresses in the following zip codes will be allowed to purchase wristbands online. Go here for a list of zip codes that qualify.

This year's festival runs from March 7 through March 16.
