SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- A protest has been planned Monday in San Antonio to call for a boycott of the fastest highway in the country, the new SH-130 toll road.
The 41-mile stretch opened October 24th with a posted speed limit of 85 mph.
Sunday marked the first day for driver to pay to use the road. The toll road had been free for the first two weeks.
The groups "Texans uniting for Reform and Freedom" and "Texans for Accountable Government" are calling for a boycott citing several concerns with the Spain-based toll operator, Cintra.
The 85 mph stretch of SH-130 saw its first deadly crash Sunday afternoon in Mustang Ridge, just south of ABIA.
