3M Half Marathon to shut down roads Sunday morning

AUSTIN – Watch for road closures and lane restrictions Sunday during the nineteenth annual 3M Half Marathon.

An estimated 7,000 runners will race Sunday morning.

Stonelake Blvd. between Hwy. 183 and Braker Lane will be closed starting at 3 a.m.

There will be additional lane and road closures from Stonelake Blvd. in the Arboretum area through central Austin, ending near the finish line area at 18th Street and Congress Ave.

Roads will reopen on a rolling basis as the last runners pass each intersection and traffic devices are removed.

Traffic is expected to be heaviest in the Arboretum area prior to the race start. at 6:45. 

Please plan ahead and be aware of the closure schedules and alternate access routes.

Drivers are encouraged to add a minimum of 30 minutes to travel times on Sunday morning and to pay attention to police directions around the racecourse.
