ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Police say a case of road rage lead to a shooting in the 1000 block of Mays at East Palm Valley.

Officers say two drivers were sitting in traffic when one man threw a Coke at the other man's car.

Police say both men pulled into a business parking lot. One of the drivers, identified as Andrew Bettan, got out of his car and walked to the other man's, Ralph Gambles, car.

Investigators say as Bettan reached the driver side of Gambles’ car, Bettan used the car door to push Gambles back into his vehicle.

Gambles told police he then retrieved his .40 caliber handgun from inside of his waistband, got out of his car, pointed his gun at Bettan, and shot Bettan once in the right thigh.

Gambles, 31, was transported to the Williamson County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a second-degree felony.
