AUSTIN -- Austin Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted for two aggravated robberies.
Julian Jesse Alvarado Jr., 27, is wanted for two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and is considered to be armed and dangerous.
The first robbery took place on Friday April 26 at the Shell gas station on 2700 East 7th St around 7 p.m. The second incident took place on Sunday April 28 at a Valero gas station on 2001 E. State Hwy. 71.
During both robberies, police say, Alvarado Jr. entered the store and went to pay for an item. He handed the clerk money, waited for the register to open and then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the clerk, demanding money.
Alvarado Jr. fled both scenes on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
Alvarado Jr. is described as a Hispanic man, approximately 5’8”, in his mid-20s and of a medium build. He has a trimmed beard and short brown hair. He has a tattoo behind his right ear, a tattoo of a cross on his left inside forearm and abrasions on top of his right hand.
The suspect possibly drives an older model 1990s Tahoe with a faded paint job.
In the Shell robbery, the suspect was seen wearing an all-black baseball cap with a sticker on the top brim, a white t-shirt, gold chain, white or red and possibly blue or black plaid shorts, black sneakers with white bottom soles and red laces.
In the Valero robbery, he was seen wearing a red baseball cap on backwards, white short sleeved-shirt, multi-colored striped shorts and black shoes with red laces.
