WASHINGTON -- A former Pflugerville band director was sentenced to 30 years in prison for producing and distributing child pornography.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, 33-year-old Robert Ramos is ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release in addition to his prison term.
Ramos pleaded guilty on Oct. 31, 2012, to one count of production of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography.
Ramos was previously an assistant band director at Dessau Middle School in Pflugerville. The U.S. Attorney's Office says "he admitted that he obtained sexually explicit images of a 13-year-old girl through communicating with her on Facebook using Facebook accounts that falsely portrayed him as a teenaged girl. Ramos admitted to distributing those images to a teacher in New York who was also contacting minor boys and girls for the purpose of obtaining sexually explicit images."
