Longhorn cattle took a stroll in downtown San Antonio Saturday morning. The  50 Thurmond Longhorns were the star attraction at the 6th Annual Western Heritage that snaked its way down Houston Street at around 11 a.m.

Cowboys and chuck wagons followed suit to kick off the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.

The parade also included the Jefferson high School Lassos and Wranglers, the Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers, Chester McDougald Git-Er-Done Wagon Company, the John Jay High School Mariachi Jalisco, the Texas True Women Drill Team and the Fort Sam Houston Military Honors Platoon.
