AUSTIN -- One person is dead and two others injured after two vehicles collided in the 3000 block of Highway 71 East early Sunday morning.
Around 3:30 a.m., Austin Police say a van and a pick-up truck collided while driving east on Highway 71 near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
After colliding, both vehicles went off the road.
First responders pronounced the driver of the van dead at the scene. Monday police identified him as a white, 54-year-old male. His name has not yet been released.
A passenger in the van and the driver of the truck were both taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with minor injuries.
Austin police said vehicular homicide investigators were still determining the cause of the crash.
