One dead in Round Rock accident

ROUND ROCK, Texas -- One person is dead after an accident on FM 620 and Deepwood Dr., a few blocks west of Round Rock High School.

It happened around 2 p.m. when a red car traveling westbound on FM 620 crashed into a car driving eastbound. That crash forced the cars into a third vehicle sitting at a red light.

One person, an elderly man who was a passenger in one of the cars, died. One person has been transported to a Round Rock hospital. Their condition is unknown.

Two other people suffered non-life threatening injuries. According to Round Rock police spokesperson Dee Carver, one of those is a student. The age of the student is unknown.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
