OAK HILL -- A sign of healing in a central Texas community devastated by wildfire.
Members of the Oak Hill community came together Sunday to build a mosaic wall, as part of a dedication ceremony following a massive fire more than two years ago.
On April 17, 2011 -- fire roared through Oak Hill, destroying 10 homes, damaging 11 others and wiping out hundreds of acres.
The people who live in the community say they are moved by the commitment to stay and work together as a resilient team to build the mosaic to mark that tragic day.
Sol was one of many community members who helped work on the mosaic "I helped build the wall and I polished it. I made the artwork shine".
Homeowners attending the event say they are thankful to the pilots and firefighters who worked so hard to save more than 400 homes.
