AUSTIN -- Firefighters put out a house fire in Northeast Austin.
Firefighters responded around 11:40 p.m. Monday to a home on April Drive near Dessau Road and Braker Lane.
Officials say the fire started in the home's garage and spread to the attic. Fire crews were initially concerned that the flames could spread to neighboring homes.
Austin Fire Battalion Chief Thayer Smith told KVUE the fire was contained and the rest of the house was saved.
Firefighters stayed on scene Tuesday morning to check for hot spots. No injuries were reported.
The cause has been ruled an accident. The fire caused $100,000 in structural damage and $50,000 in content damage.
