AUSTIN -- The woman accused of leaving her baby in a hot car last month turned herself into police Thursday.
Debra Lynn Ary, 28, is charged with child endangerment.
Police say on Aug. 14, she left her 10-month-old in a car in 103-degree weather to run into a HEB.
Other shoppers and a security guard broke a window and got the baby out.
One of the heroes, M. Brown, dove into the car as soon as the window broke.
"When I took her out, you could just feel the heat coming out, and a lady had a bottle of water, so I poured some in her mouth and on her face and top of head and stuff to at least try and cool her off," Brown said.
The baby is now with Child Protective Services.
