TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas -- A man is in custody in Travis County after being accused of stalking his neighbors.
Deputies say 45-year-old Herbert Vanecken was terrorizing the community for years, yelling death threats and racial slurs at neighbors. Deputies arrested him at his home off Timber Creek Drive Wednesday after a 13-hour long SWAT standoff on Monday.
The incident happened when a neighbor heard gunshots coming from Vanecken's house. The sheriff's office and the SWAT team were called out, but had to leave because they could not get a search warrant.
Vanecken has been charged for previous incidents, including stalking, terroristic threats and aggravated assault.
