KYLE, Texas -- Part of Interstate 35 was closed Monday after a major accident involving an 18-wheeler.
The incident happened near Kyle Parkway. The Texas Department of Transportation closed all northbound lanes near exit 215 and mile marker 216.
Since diesel fuel was spilled, Hazmat crews had to come to the scene and clean it up.
Kyle police say two other vehicles were involved in the crash with an 18-wheeler, though no injuries were reported. The driver of the 18-wheeler tells KVUE News his brakes locked up, causing his truck to jackknife.
TxDOT had advised drivers earlier Monday afternoon to use caution on area highways in the rain.
“Remember to slow down and do not use cruise control,” the department said.
I-35 reopened shortly before midnight.
