Empty spaces were scarce along the River Walk on Friday night as thousands of San Antonians picked prime spots for watching the Ford Holiday River Parade & Lighting Ceremony.
The parade was even brighter than ever this year. The city has converted 85,000 incandescent holiday lights to more than 1.76 million light-emitting diode (LED) lights. The enhanced lighting allows the city to use 20 times more lights on the River Walk while still using less and half the energy than burned up by the incandescent lights.
