Austin's most famous transient was out of a rehabilitation hospital Monday.
Leslie Cochran is now staying with friends.
Over the weekend, he talked to KVUE News about what led to that stay in the hospital.
Officers found him in South Austin on October 3 after what they thought might have been a fall, but Cochran says he was attacked.
"I was talking to some people who were in the process of getting some crack, and I suggested to them that crack will just make you stupid, and the guy in front of me took offense, and I was attacked from the back and the front, too," Cochran said.
Medical professionals say Cochran could be confused about what happened because of his brain injuries.
