AUSTIN -- Lake Travis ISD is investigating a threat found on its high school campus.

According to a letter sent to parents Thursday, the words "There will be blood 4-26-13" was written in pencil underneath a stool in the high school library.

Superintendent Brad Lancaster said the stool was immediately removed and law enforcement was contacted to investigate the threat.

Lancaster told parents to expect an increased police presence Friday at all Lake Travis ISD campuses.

"We do not believe this discovery to be a cause for alarm, but out of an abundance of caution we have put together a plan for increased police presence at our campuses on Friday, April 26, 2013," Lancaster wrote.

Parents were reassured that the district was prepared with "a well-defined crisis management plan."

Lancaster urged parents not to be deterred in sending their children to school Friday but added that he would respect whatever decision parents made.

Parents were asked to encourage their children to report any suspicious activity to an adult.

Lake Travis ISD administration has joined forces with the Travis County Sheriff's Office, Lakeway Police Department and Bee Cave Police Department to monitor Lake Travis High School and Lake Travis Middle School on Friday.
