KVUE takes you through never-before-seen rooms at Austin's new uber-luxury W Hotel and Residences. Portions of it are set to open December 9.
Towering high above Austin is hotel and living luxury like Austin has never seen. It's the famous "W" brand set to open this December. Sunday morning, owner Beau Armstrong took us on a tour starting at the very top in the penthouse suites.
Residents can choose a room looking south at the hills of West Austin and Lady Bird Lake, or facing north where the state Capitol and UT are in perfect sight.
From the 37th floor, residents will look down on the Frost Bank tower which used to be the tallest building in the city.
Armstrong then guided the KVUE crew through a newly-completed model unit on the 24th floor. It features marble counter tops and cabinets designed in Germany.
The style is very modern. The condos feature wood floors and earthy paint tones. There are even marble tiles in the laundry room. And, with all of that, occupants will have access to lavish amenities like a private pool, spa, and a 24/7 concierge service.
Next we got a look at the hotel. Guests will be greeted by tones of grey and red. The furniture is not in yet, but Armstrong promises the ultimate. The bathroom also has marble features.
The ACL Live and Moody Theater venue is top secret for now. Armstrong, however, did show the green room area where all of the stars will get ready. The entire venue will be unveiled once complete in late December.
Condo space is still available. Two floors of condos will open in December. Two floors are expected to be completed monthly until May.
