AUSTIN -- A judge denied a request to keep drug evidence a secret in the case of a popular South Austin Mexican restaurant owner arrested on drugs and weapons charges.
Amado Pardo, better known as "Mayo," is accused of trafficking heroine from Jovita's on South 1st Street.
He's a known member of the Texas Syndicate Prison gang.
Federal agents raided the restaurant and two of his homes in July.
This week Federal Judge Sam Sparks denied a motion by Pardo's lawyers to prevent wire-tapping evidence in his trial next year.
