Sunday marked a National Day of Recognition for victims and survivors of crime.

Crime Victims First put on the first-ever Jam for Justice.  The organization is a non-profit web-based ombudsman here in Texas that receives, investigates and tries to resolve complaints on behalf of victims.

"They treat and make sure that prosecutors treat crime victims with dignity, fairness and respect through out the entire criminal prosecution process," said Board Member Stephen Stewart.

Organizers say often, victims don't know what to expect and Crime Victims First makes sure they get their constitutionally protected rights.
