AUSTIN -- A husband and wife are marking a milestone on this Valentine's Day -- 25 years of marrying other couples.

One is a current Travis County judge, and the other retired four years ago.

Retired Judge Jan Breland estimates she's married close to 9,000 couples in her tenure. She retired from the bench in 2010. Her husband, Judge John Lipscombe, was then elected.

They are a very romantic couple. They collect antique marriage licenses. Breland received a heart-shaped diamond as an engagement ring.

Lipscombe says he received some criticism from Republican lieutenant governor candidates this year. The candidates were pretty critical about the judges performing same-sex ceremonies.

Lipscombe says having a partner is every American's constitutional right.

This year the couple had so many people interested, they decided to hold a mass wedding Friday at noon.

The couple expects more than 20 couples to attend.
