Six of the 10 gunshot victims from Thursday’s mass shooting at Ft. Hood remained in intensive care at Scott and White Hospital in temple Friday afternoon.

Dr. W. Roy Smythe, chief of the department, said the victims were all stable, but they have very serious injuries and a few have a significant risk of losing their life.

The victims arrived at Scott and White Thursday afternoon with gunshot wounds in the head, neck, chest, abdomen and/or extremities.

The majority of the victims arrived unconscious and in shock because of their wounds.

Doctors say two of the victims will likely need additional surgeries within 24 hours.

“Thoughts and prayers are welcome,” Smythe said.

Hundreds and hundreds of people from all over the state have been showing up at the Temple hospital in order to donate blood.

The blood donation center will close at 6 p.m. Friday, but officials say they will serve everyone in line.

The center will reopen on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
