The City of Austin is looking to get ideas from the public on how to manage the growing amount of special events. Last year alone, there were 136 street event applications and 227 days worth of events.
The largest ones, like the South by Southwest and Austin City Limits festivals, continue to draw bigger and bigger crowds each year.
The current city ordinance lumps all events into one category. But officials want to streamline the process.
If you have a good idea you want to share, head to the One Texas Center off Barton Springs Road for the meeting. It begins at 6:45 p.m. and ends around 8:45.
