AUSTIN -- The Austin Fire Department tells KVUE News a house fire that injured seven people in East Austin Monday was caused by arson.

AFD spokesperson Michelle Decrane says they are still investgating the fire and have not named any suspects.

The fire started the morning of Nov. 12 at 5:15 on 14th Street in East Austin. Investigators say it started in the living room.

Seven people had to go to the hospital; four were treated at out-of-town burn units.

Neighbors tell investigators that a man who had several disagreements with the family set the fire. Investigators are following up those leads.

"There's a lot of people pointing to one specific person, and I've seen some of the interviews where they say they know exactly who did this, and that's one of the things we are following up. There's a lot of activity in that neighborhood that we are having to follow up on," Austin Fire Department Captain Andy Reardon told KVUE earlier this week.

Investigators say the neighborhood is a high-crime area. Austin police have been called out to the home a dozen times since 2010.
