Hit and run accident kills cyclist in Northwest Austin

AUSTIN -- Police are investigating a hit and run collision that killed a cyclist late Monday night.

It happened on the northbound frontage road of Research Boulevard near Oak Knoll Drive in Northwest Austin around 10:30 p.m.

Police say they received several calls of a man lying in the street. They say it appears the man was riding his bicycle and was hit by a vehicle. 

No word yet on the victim's name or information on the vehicle involved. If you have any information you are asked to call the vehicular homicide unit at 512-974-5784.
