A power plant in Central Texas will soon double in size. Officials say the natural gas-fueled Panda Power's Plant in Temple will supply power to approximately 1.5 million homes. Temple is about 35 miles southwest of Waco. Company officials say up to 800 construction jobs will be created.

The first Hilton Hotel property is coming to downtown Dallas. A new Homewood Suites is set to open this fall. It will be the first hotel to open in downtown Dallas in three years.

Chevron says it has completed repairs at its refinery in Richmond, California. It was damaged last year in a fire. Production is not expected to begin in the repaired crude until final regulatory approvals are given, which could be by the end of June.

A major new development is coming to Midland, Texas. Hedge fund Wexford Capital is planning to build a $350 million dollar office-and-condo tower there. Demand is rising in a region home to the world's second-largest oil field. The proposed energy tower at City Center has begun pre-leasing its 560,00 square feet of office space. The tower would be more than twice the height of the city's tallest building.
