AUSTIN -- Candidate for Texas Governor, Attorney General Greg Abbott addressed a crowd of law enforcement officers Sunday in Austin.
He spoke to dozens of members of the Texas Municipal Police Association at their annual conference at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Abbott talked about the relationship between his department and law enforcement officers throughout his tenure as Attorney General.
He pointed out the partners caught thousands of predators involved in human trafficking, drug smuggling, money laundering and corruption.
"Your members risk their lives to protect and save the lives of others and I want you to know all Texans thank you for laying down your lives to protect our great state. Thank you for your service," said Abbott.
Earlier this month, Abbott announced plans to run for governor in 2014 following Governor Perry's announcement that he will not run for the office.
