In the wake of all the wildfires raging across the Lone Star State,Governor Rick Perry is asking President Obama to declare Texas a major disaster area.
The Governor says more than 78 hundred fires in our state have burned an estimated 1.5 million acres and destroyed 244 homes.
A "major disaster declaration" would make the state eligible for help in responding to and recovering from this wildfire emergency.
