GEORGETOWN, TX -- Police say a group of vandals caused $10,000 dollars worth of damage in a few hours in Georgetown.

Investigators believe it may be a group of teens who flipped golf carts, drove another into a pond, then shattered windows and lights in nearby homes and cars. The destruction happened in Berry Creek, Sun City, Cowan golf course and Kickapoo Creek between June 16 and June 17.

Investigators say the biggest reason they need to catch these vandals is because they used a weapon.

"We're pretty confident it was either done with a BB gun, a pellet gun. Now you have a weapon introduced which can be very frightening if someone comes out of their house and sees somebody pointing a gun you just don't know what homeowners are going to do to protect their property," said Georgetown Police Captain Roland Waits.

Police are asking if you've heard anything to call Williamson County Crimestoppers at 1-800-253-7867. You can remain anonymous.
