DEL VALLE, Texas -- Austin firefighters rescued another missing flood victim on Wednesday: a lost German shepherd named Max.
A park ranger at Southeast Metropolitan Park in Del Valle spotted Max on the banks of Onion Creek near the park and alerted the firefighters.
Max wouldn't walk closer to rescuers, so firefighters repelled 75 feet down a cliff to save him.
Max was quickly returned to his owner, whose name and contact information was printed on the dog's collar. The owner said that Max had gone missing during the first round of heavy rainfall in the area in October.
