AUSTIN -- Three FEMA teams toured Austin's flooded areas on Friday to assess the damage.
"I've got maybe three, four inches of water," said resident Jackie Walker. "Then this window cracks, and in less than two minutes, I'm waist deep in muddy water, with cactuses and everything just floating in."
Walker was one of many flood victims whose homes were examined on Friday.
"We're looking at type of damage, looking at the level of damage. We're even looking at asking about insurance, what is the level of insurance. We're looking at the public safety, public health aspect. We're even looking at businesses and non-profits and getting an idea of what type of impact it has on these communities."
Governor Rick Perry will look at FEMA's assessment to decide if the damage is above local and state capabilities. The FEMA assessment could take two to three days.
