ELROY, Texas -- The construction continues on the Formula One race track in Elroy as Circuit of the America’s releases the first of the prices to secure a seat in the grandstands.

Premium seating is available in the Main Grandstand and at Turns 1 and 15 along the track.

At the Main Grandstand spectators can sit a mere 15 to 20 yards from the track. Currently they can secure a personal seat license which will guarantee them a seat in the area of their choice.
According to COTA, in the Main Grandstand prices for a seat can range from $40,000 annually to $2,000 for the seat license and an additional $500 for a season ticket.
At turn one the prices range from $3,000 for the seat license and $775 for a season ticket to $5,500 for the license and $1,250 for the season ticket.
The prices are the same at the Corner Grandstand on Turn 15 and a little lower at the Grandstand on Turn 15 from $300,000. The license is $775 for the season ticket to $1,500 for the license and $375 for the ticket.
“It would certainly keep me away and obviously it's not going to be for Joe Schmo who lives here. It's going to be someone who can afford that and that's not most of us here,” said Bill Wood.
“Anything to bring I guess the people here for the revenue and business and everything like that, but the price, I don't know. Sure would be expensive,” added Shane Phillips.
COTA says additional tickets will be available for people in the Grandstands who do not secure a personal seat license. Seats around the track and standing room tickets will also be available for hopeful spectators. Those tickets won't cost as much but the exact price hasn't been released.
COTA says tickets will first go on sale in early summer. The first F1 race is scheduled for November.
